Ryan D. Nelson received his Bachelor’s degree in Portuguese, with a Minor in International Relations from Brigham Young University. Ryan attended law school at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He worked as an associate attorney for law firms in Florida and Colorado. He worked as an employment law attorney for a large membership organization and was the managing director of the company’s Utah operations for four years. In July, 2021, Ryan joined Avalon as their corporate counsel for labor and employment. A few months later Ryan became the Senior Vice-President of Human Resources. Ryan is licensed to practice law in Utah, with inactive status in Colorado and Florida. He also holds his SPHR certification. He and his wife of 25 years have six children ages 23 to 6.
